Nathan + Nan Prouse Wedding

I have known Nathan & Nan since elementary school, and Nan is actually a long distant cousin of mine through marriage (I'm from a very small town where it seems everybody is related to everybody). I was so honored when Nan asked me to be her wedding photographer. She already said years ago when she got married I'd be her photographer, but it is more of a privilege when it's real. From Savannah, GA, for their engagement portraits to a small town of Pineland, SC, for her bridal portraits to their marriage in my small hometown of Batesburg-Leesville, SC, I have beamed to photograph their joyous moments they'll cherish for many moons to come. Here are some of my favorites from their wedding day:

The lovely D.I.Y. boutineers (Almost all of the decorations made for their wedding were done by Nan, Nathan, and their family!)

These photographs were so fun to create with the groom's party. The one in the center is of the best man and groom.

The sweet D.I.Y. bouquets!

They each made one of these wreaths to have on the church doors! Crafty!!

Nathan is with their get-away Corvette in front of the church while Nan is behind the church with the famous Mt. Ebal tree that has been at the church probably since the church was built in 1832. It is always a joy for me to photograph the bride & groom before the ceremony, always making sure they don't see one another.

The bride with her bridesmaids.

Nan's sister, Reta (maid-of-honor), plays one more game of thumb war with her sister, Nan (bride), as a couple of the bridesmaids watch in laughter.

Every wedding now I try to photograph the groom's first facial expression as he sees his bride walking to him. Nathan in his true Marine-self shows a small smile before the ceremony begins.

A great thanks goes to my mom for the photo on the right. She's a wonderful photo assistant.

This capture of Nathan looking at his bride makes me smile.

It's official!

Nathan, I'm sure a lot of husbands feel this way. Thanks for your humor to create this photo!

The whole wedding party was a great sport in creating this photo! It only took two tries!

I loved creating this photo!

I'm in love with how they look in this photograph together. Nan, you wore your wedding dress so well, and I love how your hand is with Nathan's here.

Their first dance to "At Last" by Etta James.

The photo on the left is the father/daughter dance, and the one on the right was Nan's father giving her a kiss before he gives her away.

I loved seeing one of my favorite bridal pictures I've ever done on display at their wedding with the candy bar during the reception.

The beautiful Marine garter Nan wore was quite classy.

A Southern wedding was perfected by changing the champagne to sweet tea in mason jars for the bride & groom's toast.

I'm so happy with this image. Right at this very moment, Nan found out where Nathan was taking them for their honeymoon. All this time, we knew he kept their honeymoon a secret. Nan's beautiful expression of surprise happened when she found out they were going to Cancun.

Nan is a beautiful, classy, and very elegant woman. This photo exudes that.

Congratulations to the fullest to Nathan & Nan. Thank you again for this wonderful opportunity. Stay beautiful.

Always,
Des'ola
